The Sishen mine is a large iron mine located in central South Africa in Kathu, Northern Cape. Sishen represents one of the largest iron ore reserves in South Africa and in the world having estimated reserves of 2.43 billion tonnes of ore grading 58.6% iron metal. In the south Khumani Iron Ore Mine – formerly known as the Bruce, King and Mokaning (“BKM”) it now has the capacity to produce 14 million tons of product.
